3D Scanning Technician

Description Summary:
Springfield Inc. is hiring a 3D Scanning Technician assigned to the Quality Department. This role is critical
to ensuring dimensional accuracy and compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Responsible for
the 3D scanning systems and other quality measurement methods to support quality assurance, product
development, and continuous improvement activities.
Sets up, calibrates, and operates ATOS scanning equipment.
Creates scanning programs and performs scans on prototypes and production parts.
Inspects critical dimensions to identify part nonconformances.
Analyzes scan data and provides dimensional evaluations to support root cause analysis.
Creates inspection reports, including heat maps, dimensional summaries, and documented findings.
Develops and executes inspection plans for new and existing parts, including scan strategy and
documentation.
Designs fixturing for component scanning as needed.
Manages and prioritizes the scan queue, ensuring proper documentation and timely execution.
Collaborates across functional areas and with suppliers to communicate results and interpret
measurement data.
Inspects parts using various methods, including height stands, vision systems, and other metrology
tools.
Participates in product testing and reverse-engineering activities as required.

Requirements:
Associates degree in Engineering Technology minimum; recent graduates from engineering programs
are welcome to apply.
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer drawings necessary.
Background in manufacturing environment preferred.
Proven experience inspecting parts and components preferred.
