The Special Education Teacher (.6 FTE) position involves serving as Liaison for a caseload of students, which includes developing an IEP, conducting assessments, and communicating with vocational and academic teachers, other special education staff and related service providers, parents, students, and administrators. Liaisons are expected to be fully versed in state and federal mandates, possess a repertoire of instructional and behavior management strategies, understand how to develop and implement an IEP. Excellent written and oral communication skills and literacy are expected. Liaisons are also expected to be able to use data management and instructional technology on a daily basis.
