Job Description
SUNY Fredonia Federal Credit Union is opening a new branch in Irving, New York, and we are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead its success from day one. This is an exciting opportunity to build strong community relationships while leading branch operations in a member-focused credit union environment.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership skills, a service-first mindset, and the ability to manage both people and operations effectively. A passion for helping members and understanding the role of credit unions in the community is essential.
The Branch Manager position will divide time between the Credit Union's new Irving, New York branch and the main office located in Fredonia, NY. Regular travel between offices is required.
The Credit Union's hours of operation are Monday 9: 00 a.m.-4: 00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 9: 00 a.m.-2: 00 p.m., Thursday 8: 00 a.m.-4: 00 p.m., and Friday 9: 00 a.m.-4: 00 p.m. Work schedules will be established to support operational needs at both offices during these hours. No evenings or weekends.

Key Responsibilities
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing daily branch operations, driving member service excellence, and achieving financial and operational goals. This role ensures regulatory compliance and represents the credit union within the local community.
* Lead the opening and daily operations of our newest branch
* Deliver exceptional member service, drive member growth and build lasting relationships
* Oversee lending, deposits, member service, cash management, audits and branch security
* Follows and supports all compliance rules, regulations and policies at the state and federal levels, as well as all Credit Union policies and procedures
* Drive loan and deposit growth
* Resolve member concerns and support financial solutions
* Member retention through deepening member relationships and product, service and financial education
* Partner with lending, collections, and back-office teams to support member financial needs
* Follows established quality control practices to ensure error-free work.* Reviews work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance to regulations.
* Represent the credit union in the local community and support business development efforts
* Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 3 + years of banking or credit union experience with leadership responsibilities
* Strong knowledge of consumer lending, deposit products, and banking operations
* Knowledge of federal regulatory and New York State compliance requirements (NCUA, BSA/AML, lending regulations)
* Proven leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Strong commitment to member services and relationship-building
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Credit Union experience
* Consumer loan underwriting experience
* Notary Public
* Proficiency in Microsoft 360 / Windows 11
* Ten key calculator and computer keyboard skills
* Familiarity with Compu Source Systems and digital banking platforms
