Are passionate about business and development? Are you able to write in a way that engages, entertains and informs audiences? The Livingston Daily/livingstondaily.com, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a business and development reporter to cover Michigan's Livingston County, among other human interest and enterprise stories in the community. This beat includes businesses in Brighton, Hartland, Howell, Pinckney and Fowlerville, as well as several planning commission and municipal boards in these areas. The right candidate will cover daily stories and provide in-depth reporting, as needed, on openings, closings, restaurant inspections, business trends, development plans, and more. We are seeking a journalist who wants to lead coverage for the region and can develop sources. This person should enjoy speaking with real people, including business owners, customers and stakeholders. We need a reporter who isn't afraid to ask the hard questions, even when it doesn't match a business' PR plan. This reporter should have a knack for writing fun, engaging content. Experience with public records, deciphering agendas and working with databases is preferred.
