The Department of Clinical Sciences mission is to assure the health and productivity of animals to meet societal needs through high quality educational programs for professional veterinary medical students, graduate veterinarians, and the public through a faculty and veterinary medical center of excellence, and to advance and disseminate comparative biomedical knowledge in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration. The Department of Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University welcomes applications for a 12-month Tenure-Track Faculty Appointment in Veterinary Communication at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We seek applications from communication scholars or healthcare professionals with exemplary communication and facilitation skills, passion for student-centered teaching and coaching, a record of health communication research and publication, and strong interpersonal skills. This faculty member will join the Veterinary Communication for Professional Excellence (VCPE) team. The faculty members will implement and evolve the model veterinary communication curriculum alongside a robust team of instructors, coaches, and simulated clients. The CSU communication curriculum (https://vetmedbiosci.colostate.edu/vcpe/dvm-communication-curriculum/) is an internationally recognized model among veterinary colleges and received accolades from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education. Additionally valued is the faculty member's contribution of qualitative or quantitative veterinary communication-related research to advance a burgeoning field.
