JOB SUMMARY: Greensboro College is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual for a 9 month, full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will serve as Director of Bands. This role requires a forward-thinking musician and dedicated educator with a comprehensive approach to instrumental music who possesses a minimum of a Masters Degree in Wind Conducting, Music Education, or a related field. Primary responsibilities include the coordination and administration of the Greensboro College Band Program and directing instrument ensembles including, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and small ensembles. Additional courses will be assigned based on the candidates qualifications and may include music history, music theory, music/jazz appreciation, instrumental methods, music education, and private lessons based on the candidates skills and abilities. The successful candidate will engage in student recruitment, foster a positive and inclusive environment, and demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, especially traditionally underrepresented and first-generation students.
