The Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia (USC SOMC) is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month professional (non-tenure) track appointment to join a multi-instructor anatomical sciences teaching team providing instruction in cadaver-based human anatomy. Our anatomy team provides training in human anatomy to multiple health-related programs across USC including courses for medical, physician assistant, physical therapy, athletic training, and other graduate level students. The position is open at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor with a desired start date no later than August 1, 2025. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who excels at communicating complex concepts and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The selected candidate will participate in cadaver-based anatomy instruction using a variety of educational approaches, such as flipped-classroom, active-learning, and case and/or team-based learning activities. In addition to instructional duties, this individual will be expected to contribute to curricular development, be open to innovative instructional methods, and participate in faculty development activities to continue their professional development as an educator. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to education and a desire to promote student success in the learning environment. This individual will be encouraged to pursue educational/pedagogical scholarly activities and engage in campus service activities supporting the USC SOMC educational mission. Applicants must possess a doctorate degree such as MD, DPT or PhD in a closely related discipline with prior completion of a cadaver-based human anatomy course.
