The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University invites applications and nominations for the position of Head, Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture (TLAC). The goalof the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is totransform lives through leadership and innovation in education andhuman development. Qualifications. Candidates must possess anearned doctorate in a field related to any of the departmentsacademic programs; qualify for the rank of full professor, as wellas the Claude H. Everette Jr. `47 Endowed Chair in Education, whichaccompanies the Department Head position, and have a distinctiveand active record of scholarship, publications, and externalfunding. Successful candidates should be innovative leaders with astrong vision and be able to successfully advocate for thestudents, staff, and faculty in the department. Responsibilities: The Department Head serves asthe chief academic, fiscal, development, and administrative officerfor the Department. The Head is responsible for fostering facultyexcellence in research, teaching, and service consistent with thefour pillars of the Texas A&M Universitys vision and the Aggiecore values; providing effective advocacy for the department withinthe college, university, state, and nation; encouraging a positive,collegial climate; promoting national and international outreach;and establishing a successful record of creating a positive climatefor the recruitment, development, and retention of faculty,students, and staff.
