Senior Audience Editor Job Level: Digital Editor III Salary: $75,000.00 USA TODAY's Audience team is looking for an energetic senior editor of audience to assist in directing USA TODAY's award-winning coverage across digital platforms in the evenings. This senior editor will move at the speed of news in a 24/7 newsroom, working with section editors and content leaders on coverage needs while coordinating fast-paced work across Audience platforms. The candidate must demonstrate strong news judgment and have prior digital news experience. S/he will specialize in finding a wide audience for USA TODAY's stories, photos, videos, graphics and other content, and optimizing them for different social and digital platforms at night. This candidate will help to guide editors and teammates on how to create eye-catching social graphics, top-notch alerts, conversational social copy, unique newsletter subject lines and more. The senior editor will assist with planning for evening coverage, including prioritizing assignments and ensuring audience plans are created, edited and ready to launch as news warrants. The editor will also work on mobile/desktop programming, will write/edit daily, do additional content creation and manage digital platforms in real time as news and needs warrant. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of audience metrics and engagement tactics. This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii.
