Are you a library professional looking for part-time hours and are passionate about serving the children in your community? WCPL is hiring a part-time (20 hours per week) Youth Services Librarian for the Duraleigh Community Library to focus on the Young Child. You will work in the library with a team of Librarians and Library Assistants dedicated to offering quality service and dynamic programming to the community. Beyond developing and delivering storytimes, Librarians provide reference, readers' advisory and circulation assistance. Librarians are offered the opportunity to collaborate with managers and peers; and participate in system initiatives, though on a more limited basis due to the part-time schedule. Key Responsibilities: Plan, promote and present multiple weekly programs for children and families Work directly with the public on a service desk providing reference and readers' advisory Take a lead with Library Assistants assigned to assist in the delivery of programs Duraleigh Community Library 5800 Duraleigh Road Raleigh, NC 27612 The weekly schedule for this position is: Monday: OFF Tuesday: 8-1 Wednesday: 8-1 Thursday: 4-9 Friday: 9-2 Librarians work every third Saturday and every 6th Sunday.
