The Department of Surgery/Division of General Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a Clinical Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon to join the Division in the next year. The candidate is expected to develop a strong clinical program in trauma and acute care surgery. This faculty position will be at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator Line (CE) at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Applicants must be board eligible/certified in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent clinical skills and collaborative abilities. A history of preclinical or clinical research is desired as well. Preclinical research experience that would fit well with opportunities at Stanford includes translational research focused on novel therapies for trauma, injury and critical care. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
