Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) Internships and Fellowships provide paid civilian research opportunities for high school through postdoctoral individuals in U.S. Army Research Labs and Centers. Projects focus on the most current and cutting-edge priorities of the Department of Defense. Recruiting postdoctoral researchers at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory, known as DEVCOM ARL, the Armys research laboratory. Nested strategically within DEVCOM and the Army Futures Command, ARLs mission is to Operationalize Science. A hallmark of ARLs mission is collaborative partnerships to broaden Army access to expert talent and accelerate transitions of science-enabled capabilities. This site operates on a rolling application basis. Due to the high volume of applications, not all candidates may receive an immediate response. Seeking Postdoctoral Fellows for the following projects: Microalgae Researcher ( CBC001) Degree in Phycology, Environmental sciences, Biology or related field Virology Postdoctoral Fellow ( CBC002) Seeking a post-doctoral fellow to support programs in viral and infectious disease detection and threat assessment.The candidate should have a PhD or be in the process of defending their PhD thesis. The candidate must have experience in tissue culture, viral growth and propagation, viral titration, and developing diagnostic or detection assays (e.g. ELISA, neutralization assays,WB, IFA). The ideal candidate should also be experienced in basic molecular biology (e.g. DNA/RNA purification, DNA/RNA quantification, PCR, restriction enyzme digestions). Experience in DNA/RNA sequencing approaches (nanopore, Illumina) is desired, but not essential.
