Job Summary
The New York Center for Research, Economic Advancement, Technology, Engineering and Science Corporation (NY CREATES) is a world-leading R&D, innovation hub and commercialization facilitator in advanced semiconductors.
The Strategy and Industrial Relations Manager is a key contributor to fostering and managing strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment and driving mutual success with business partners. The role oversees industry relationships, facilitating collaboration between NY CREATES and its partners to achieve shared objectives.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading term sheet development and contract negotiations in collaboration with internal teams; acting as a strategic liaison between NY CREATES and its partners; and ensuring the effective operational implementation of technical and business strategies.
- Managing partnerships and aligning efforts across internal teams, including Strategy, Communications, Marketing, Program, Technical, and Legal teams, the Strategy and Industrial Relations Manager plays a vital role in driving success by ensuring that partnerships are mutually beneficial, achieve the intended goals of their collaboration, and are aligned with NY CREATES strategic objectives.
- Oversee and manage relationships to ensure partnerships meet intended goals.
- Serve as a strategic liaison, aligning term sheets, contracts, and partner objectives.
- Lead contract negotiations with external organizations in cooperation with legal, compliance, business development, and technical teams.
- Drive operationalization of agreements, ensuring legal and procedural alignment, as well as practical effectiveness.
- Clarify and coordinate terms to align with internal processes and teams across the organization, including OPRA, program management, business development, operations, and technical teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation for agreements and record keeping.
- Actively engage stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Administer document management systems, including maintaining version control and tracking changes to agreements and related documentation.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in technology or manufacturing strategy, business development, or a related field, with a proven ability to work independently as an individual contributor and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- A minimum of bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering technology, or related field from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Dept. of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting institution; bachelor's degrees in physics, chemistry, or materials science will also be considered.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with superior oral and written communication abilities to effectively convey complex information to a range of audiences including senior representatives from business, government and academia is required.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including an understanding of legal, corporate governance, and global research issues, are critical. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, while possessing a track record of success in strategic planning and project management to drive organizational goals.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is required, with the ability to create professional documents, presentations, and data-driven reports to support decision-making.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may require annual background investigations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to inform strategic decision-making. Semiconductor industry experience is preferred.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $130,000/ annually
