Middle School Math Teacher

Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate appropriate for middle school mathematics instruction
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in Education or related field
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff
- Familiarity with educational research, data analysis, and instructional best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of IDEA, Chapter 16 (Gifted Education), and Chapter 4 (Academic Standards and Assessment) regulations
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Goal: To deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with the Tamaqua Area School District curriculum, PA Eligible Content, and PA Core Standards. The teacher will engage students in meaningful learning experiences, differentiate instruction to meet student needs, and actively participate in curriculum development and school initiatives.
Terms of Employment: Ten (10) month school year. Salary and work year established by the Board of Education and per teacher contract. Benefits include ten vacation days and three personal days.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy and administrative procedures by the Building Principal or Assistant Principal.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Teach middle school mathematics content aligned to TASD curriculum and PA Core standards
- Create and implement clear, effective lesson plans with appropriate instructional materials
- Use varied instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Establish a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student learning
- Maintain accurate student records and provide ongoing academic and behavioral feedback
- Incorporate data-driven instruction and assessments to guide teaching and improve student outcomes
- Collaborate with staff to support inclusive practices and meet individual student needs
- Supervise students in classroom and non-classroom settings throughout the school day
- Participate in curriculum planning and district-level initiatives
- Engage in professional development opportunities and maintain current teaching credentials
- Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and school functions as required
- Comply with all district policies, procedures, and timelines for reporting and documentation
- Demonstrate regular, punctual attendance and professionalism in all duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or their designe
