Wyo Sports is on the hunt for a standout sports reporter
Are you passionate about sports and storytelling? Do you thrive on the sidelines and in the newsroom? Wyo Sports — the combined sports department of the Laramie Boomerang and Wyoming Tribune Eagle (Cheyenne) — is seeking a driven, dynamic, and detail-savvy reporter to join our award-winning team. This is your chance to cover the heart of Wyoming athletics, with high school sports as your primary beat. You'll also have the opportunity to branch out and report on University of Wyoming events, professional rodeo, Legion baseball, and a wide range of community and youth sports. No two days are the same here.
We’re looking for a versatile writer who can deliver crisp game stories, compelling features, and in-depth trend and enterprise reporting. You’ll also work with our design center to approve pages, and digital savvy is a definite plus — especially when it comes to web publishing and social media.
Why Laramie?
Nestled on the high plains of southeastern Wyoming, Laramie (pop. 32,000) offers the charm of a college town with easy access to Fort Collins and Denver. Love the outdoors? You’ll find endless opportunities for hiking, skiing, climbing, and more right in your backyard. Wyo Sports has been recognized with numerous Associated Press Sports Editors awards for both writing and section excellence. Join a team where your work will shine.
