Video Strategist

Lee Enterprises is looking for a
video journalist who's
passionate about digital creation, storytelling and helping others improve their work to join Lee's Strategic Content Support team.

As a strategist focused on multimedia and video, you'll serve as a key resource for journalists across Lee by:

• Creating and editing audio and video packages for multiple platforms.
• Collaborating with reporters and photographers in any of our 70+ newsrooms.
• Testing and measuring ideas for growth with newsroom partners.
• Analyzing newsrooms' multimedia coverage and priorities.

You'll work on
podcasts, video docuseries, spot video packages and more that are distributed on websites, mobile apps, podcast services and social media. You'll also dive deeply into the performance of your own work and our newsrooms' multimedia journalism.

Lee's strategists are thoughtful, personable, approachable, innovative and collaborative. Our work requires both technical skills and the ability to connect with other journalists to make the case for
digital-first, data-informed strategies that help convert and retain subscribers.

What skills are we looking for?

This role requires
previous experience in a newsroom or production studio
creating video that engages audiences. The ability to think critically about digital news audiences and their needs is a must.

You should have experience with Adobe Premiere, Audition and Photoshop. After Effects is a plus. You should also be comfortable working with content management systems (We use BLOX CMS and VMS.), social media platforms and content analytics tools.

A track record of
advocating for multimedia in a newsroom and/or
training colleagues is a plus. You should be comfortable working independently, contributing to team projects and collaborating across teams.

What is the pay range?

This
salaried position has an expected annualized pay range of
$40,000 to $60,000. Actual salary may vary based on factors such as employee location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is just one component of Lee's total compensation and benefits package.

Where would you work?

This is a
remote position. Location in or near a Lee market is preferred, but we will consider candidates anywhere in the continental United States. We will provide you with a laptop, monitors, keyboard and mouse for your home office.

What about travel?

If you live near a Lee location, you may be asked to meet with journalists in person. Otherwise, you may be asked to attend one or two team-related meetings in person per year.
