East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Vice President for Administration!Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESUs proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the countrys largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Vice President for Administration, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable leading ESUs administrative operationsto drive organizational improvement and campus safety. You will be an active member of the Office of the Presidentand will work closely with the President to conceptualize, develop, and implement ESUs administrative and compliance functions. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your business background and administrative leadership experience all while addressing complex regulatory & operational matters in compliancewith governmental agencies. To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent strategic planning skills, extensive supervisory experience, and a comprehensive understanding of collective bargaining agreements.
Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 8: 00 am to 4: 30 pm, but you may have to flex your schedule to work from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Vice President for Administration. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
Strategic Leadership and Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for Human Resources, Labor Relations, Social Equity, Civil Rights, University Police, Parking, and Environmental Health and Safety.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align administrative functions with the university's strategic objectives.
Campus Relations & Communication
- Serve as a visible and accessible leader, enhancing communication and relationship-building efforts.
- Engage faculty, staff, and students to ensure a transparent and inclusive decision-making process.
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
- In consultation with Legal Counsel and the Office of the President, act as the universitys primary authority for interpreting, analyzing, and addressing regulatory and operational matters.
- Disseminate information from governmental agencies such as the Department of Education, the Office of the Chancellor, and the Office of General Counsel to ensure campus-wide understanding and compliance.
Policy & Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the development, recommendation, and implementation of the University's Strategic Plan, particularly as it relates to administrative and compliance functions.
- Develop data-informed initiatives that align with institutional priorities and emerging trends in higher education.
Operational & Risk Management
- Establish comprehensive risk management and operational plans to ensure campus preparedness and responsiveness to potential challenges.
- Oversee initiatives that promote campus safety, including University Police, Parking Services, and Environmental Health and Safety.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
- Masters degree in business, leadership or a field related field. Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in organization development, policy administration, operational management, labor relations, legal affairs or related experience.
- Five years of experience in leadership roles with responsibility for administrative operations and compliance in complex organizational environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in collective bargaining agreements; local, state, and federal laws; and regulatory matters related to public safety and employment.
- Ability to independently travel, including overnight.
- Proven skills in supervision, strategic planning, and organizational development.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively interpret and convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Valid drivers license.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree in a related field.
- Five years as a senior or executive level leader.
- Experience in conflict management.
- Experience in investigations.
