Sports Reporter - The Sentinel The Sentinel in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, is seeking a sports reporter to cover games, write feature stories and help with approving proofs of sports pages in the evenings. Working alongside our sports editor, Tim Gross, the reporter will help cover a variety of high school sports, primarily those located within Cumberland County. The Sentinel produces three print editions each week, as well as e-editions on non-print days. Sports stories are still published daily on our website, Cumberlink.com. A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is required, and knowledge of social media, AP style and photo/video production is of interest. Given the nature of sports reporting, evening and weekend work is required. Travel should be expected, though most state championships are held within our county or within a two-hour drive.
