Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a land management worker. This position assists the senior land management worker with the maintenance of grounds at the college and campus outreach events. This position is considered an "essential employee" and as such, may be required to report during non-scheduled days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays to assist with snow removal and other work situations.

Essential Duties
-
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
- Operates tractors, lawn mowers and other landscaping equipment to maintain outside grounds, including mowing grass, pruning and removing trees, shrubs and bushes, seeding bare areas, raking leaves, applying mulch, fertilizers, lime and herbicides, removing clippings from walks and roadways after mowing and performs maintenance, plowing and shoveling snow, managing greenhouse and repairs on lawn tractors, landscaping equipment and college vehicles
- Performs general maintenance duties at college facilities that may include moving furniture and equipment, assisting with the repair and painting of college buildings, maintaining irrigation systems and fountain, unloading trucks, delivering and picking up supplies and assisting in room and equipment setup for college functions
- Inputs, maintains and monitors work orders on the facilities work order system
- Maintains records and daily logs
- Empties trash cans and ash trays as assigned
- Gives instructions to and monitors the work of temporary summer maintenance workers in the absence of the senior land management worker
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
-
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Four years of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
- Computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Preference will be given to candidates with professional pesticide and fertilizer applicator certifications

Supplemental Information

This is a full-time standard support staff position with excellent fringe benefits. The hourly rate for this position will likely range from $17.08 to approximately $21.00 per hour, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. Days and Hours of work are Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. - 4: 30 p.m. (1 hour lunch). This position is considered an "essential employee" and as such, may be required to report during non-scheduled days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays to assist with snow removal and other work situations.
