Chartiers Valley School Board Director Notice

The Chartiers Valley Board of School Directors is accepting letters of interest to fill a Board of School Director seat until December 2025.  

District residents wishing to fill the seat are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and/or a resume for review by 4: 00 p.m. June 23, 2025 to: Kelly Irvine, School Board Secretary, Chartiers Valley School District, 2030 Swallow Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 or via email at kirvine@cvsd.net.

The Pennsylvania School Code outlines the following eligibility requirements for candidates wishing to fill an open school board position:

• Must be a citizen.

• Must be at least 18 years old;   

• Must be a resident of the district for at least one (1) year prior to the date of their appointment;

• Must not hold any other public office that is designated as incompatible with the office of school director;

• Must not be an employee of Chartiers Valley School District; and

• Must be of good moral character.

The seat will be declared vacant at the June 24, 2025 public School Board meeting.  The School Board

will review all letters of interest and conduct interviews at the June 24, 2025 public School Board

meeting. Interested candidates should be prepared to speak for 3-5 minutes during the June 24,

2025 public board meeting at 6: 30 p.m. at the Intermediate School Auditorium located in the Chartiers Valley Intermediate School at 2030 Swallow Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. A final candidate will be

selected at the June 24, 2025 meeting. The new School Board member will serve until December

2025.
