Description The Department of History at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the history of the United States during the long nineteenth century to start on or after July 1, 2026. We welcome applications from candidates who either are ABD or hold a recent PhD and particularly encourage applications from scholars whose work explores transnational perspectives on these histories. Qualifications Candidates must have earned the PhD degree in a relevant field prior to the start of the appointment.
