Verona Public Schools "Dedicated to Developing Healthy Habits of Mind, Body, and Heart" School Business Administrator/ Board Secretary The Verona Public School District, a high-achieving suburban district in Essex County, New Jersey, is seeking an exceptional educational leader to serve as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary. This is a key cabinet-level position responsible for the financial, business, and operational functions of a district with a $50 million budget, serving approximately 2,200 students across six schools. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of school district finances, including budget development, accounting, payroll, purchasing, insurance, grants, and investments. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements. Supervise business office staff and operations, including transportation, food services, and facilities. Serve as Secretary to the Board of Education, coordinating with the Superintendent in the preparation of agendas, minutes, and official documents. Qualifications: Valid New Jersey School Business Administrator Certificate Demonstrated expertise in public school finance, budgeting, facilities management, and board operations Strong knowledge of NJDOE regulations, audit requirements, and school funding law Assistant Principal for Athletics and Student Activities The Assistant Principal for Athletics and Student Activities plays a critical leadership role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and dynamic school culture through comprehensive athletic and extracurricular programs. This individual is responsible for the administration, supervision, and development of all interscholastic athletic programs and student activities in alignment with the school's educational mission and New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) regulation. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Valid New Jersey Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility* Minimum of 35 years of successful teaching or administrative experience, or as determined by the Board Demonstrated leadership capability in the organization and administration of a district-level athletic program Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and high standards of conduct for athletes Preferred: Familiarity with NJSIAA compliance and New Jersey school law. Experience managing budgets, scheduling, and staffing for large-scale programs. Knowledge of student development and engagement best practices.
