FISHERIES BIOLOGIST II DFWRC FISHERIES PROGRAM (DFWRC–Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation) NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT – POLSON, MT The Fisheries Biologist II is a technical and skilled professional position, responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out field and office work related to assessing the fisheries of the Flathead Reservation and identifying factors impacting those fisheries. The successful applicant must have a Master’s of Science degree in Fisheries Biology or related field. Incumbent should have a professional certification, or eligibility for certification, by the American Fisheries Society. Must have experience in program planning and management. Skill required in operation of electrofishing equipment and other standard fishery sampling and collection gear, in operation of boat motors, small gasoline engines and 4x4 vehicles. May require training and certification or licensing in the safe use of SCUBA diving equipment and techniques, electrofishing techniques, the use of piscicides for fish removal and restoration purposes, and the safe operation of a motor boat. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with private landowners, the public and fellow workers through report writing and planning, public forums, and the news media. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. FAILURE TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS.
