Assistant Professor/APT Psychiatrist APT Foundation and Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry are recruiting a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist with experience and interest in the treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. APT was founded in 1970 by Department of Psychiatry faculty at the Yale School of Medicine and since its inception has been a standalone not-for-profit organization with a community-based Board of Directors. APT is among the oldest substance use disorder treatment programs in the U.S., was one of the first to use medication for the treatment of opioid use disorder, and has an active research program. Patients to be treated have substance use disorders and may also have other disorders including psychosis and mood disorders. Clinical responsibilities include delivery of psychiatric care at APT's methadone, buprenorphine, primary care and residential treatment programs both as an attending physician and/or as a consultant, and may include supervision of addiction fellows, psychiatry residents and advanced practice nurses. The individual will be responsible for teaching fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees, and for initiating scholarly work related to teaching or research. The successful candidate may conduct scholarly work, either in education, by developing educations materials, publishing on education and other clinical topics or in research and will collaborate with faculty within the APT foundation and the Yale Department of Psychiatry. This position includes an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Preference will be given to applicants who are Board eligible/certified in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
