Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a financial aid specialist. This position provides information to current and prospective students, parents, and professionals on the various financial aid programs and application processes on the telephone, in person, and at workshops and student orientations. This position may be required to periodically work evenings and weekends, including registration and the annual commencement.

Essential Duties

- Provides information to students, prospective students, parents and professionals on the various financial aid programs and application processes on the telephone, in person and at workshops and student orientations
- Assists with the collection and review of financial aid documents
- Provides office support for the student services division, including, but not limited to, typing, photocopying, scheduling appointments, scanning and filing documents, entering data, handling incoming telephone calls, making outbound calls, working on projects across multiple departments and providing coverage for the student services reception desk
- Manages the financial aid email account, phone messages, social media content, flyers and annual documents and forms
- Provides technical support for financial aid programs including trouble-shooting Colleague issues, scanning documents in Image Now and updating the financial aid web page
- Works with division administrative associates to ensure that students have a high-quality student experience in their interaction with student services staff, provides coverage of information desk and main switchboard when needed, and posts digital board signage and student classified advertisements
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

- Associate degree
- Three years of related work experience
- Strong computer, Microsoft Office, mathematical, organizational and human relations skills
- Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree and bilingual English/Creole skills

Supplemental Information

This is a full-time support staff position with excellent fringe benefits. The starting hourly rate for this position will likely range from $22.92 to $28.10 per hour depending on qualifications and experience, with extremely well-qualified individuals toward the upper end of this range.
