The North Olmsted Civil Service Commission announces an examination for Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedic from 11/24/2025 to 01/11/2026 through the National Testing Network. The hiring process involves a comprehensive exam, a physical agility test, and a polygraph, medical, and psychological evaluation. Applicants must also be US citizens and hold a State of Ohio Paramedic Certificate to be eligible.
REQUIREMENTS
:
Be at least 18 years of age and not yet reached 43 years of age
US citizen or have legally declared to become a US citizen
Valid driver's license and a high school diploma or GED equivalent MUST accompany the application
Pass ALL FOUR phases of the NTN exam (score 70% or greater on each phase)
Possess a State of Ohio Paramedic certificate
Pass polygraph, medical exam, background investigation and psychological profile evaluation
Passing of a physical agility test from Tri-C or Stark State College required prior to original appointment
NTN's Personal History - Questionnaire MUST be completed
Additional information
Applicants can receive additional credit for education, military service and certifications.

Salary Information
Starting salary $70,697.03, increasing to a top pay of $93,491.22 by the fifth year.
